GROOMING INFORMATION
Dog Haven, LLC is a full-service grooming salon. Your pet will be groomed with
state of the art equipment in a safe, clean, and caring environment, with the
love and attention it deserves. We are proud of our people and our facility. We
will gladly give you a tour, letting you see where your pet will be bathed,
hand-dried, and groomed. Ask us to
show you our Hydrosurge bathing system, Clipper-Vac system, and professional
dryers.
You may
also notice the Certificates of Achievement gracing our walls.
We believe in continuing our education, attending special grooming seminars,
learning all that we can about skin and coat, and about new techniques and
products the industry has developed.
We want your pets experience to be a pleasurable one. One that they will enjoy and look forward to. Many of our customers pets actually drag their owners IN with their enthusiasm to come see us. We do not administer tranquilizers or advocate the use of muzzles, but will work with you and your veterinarian if your dog has special needs.
Grooming is done for all breeds on an appointment only basis. We can sometimes accommodate dogs the same day, just call. Grooming is done during the day, but we will occasionally do evening grooming if your schedule requires it.
Our grooming salon rate is $40 per hour.
During
check-in, we will ask you how you want your pet groomed. We will try
our best to achieve your wishes, though coat conditions will dictate how best
your dog can be groomed without causing your pet any pain.
We want to develop a special relationship with you and your dog. We will
strive to please you both in everything we do. Please let us know if we have
satisfied you or if we haven’t. You are our most important customer and
we welcome your comments and suggestions.
During check-in we may comb your pet and check the condition of its skin
and coat. We will also check for parasites (if fleas or lice are present we will
refer you to your veterinarian for a topical/prescription parasite treatment).
You will be asked to read and sign an Understanding/Release form before we start grooming your pet.
Please let us know of any medical, physical, or mental conditions your pet may
have, including any sensitive areas.
While
here, your pet will receive a gentle massaging bath, which cleans the
skin and each hair with the proper dilution of a premium shampoo, selected
especially for your pets individual skin and coat type, using one of our two
bathing processes.
Your pet will then be rinsed thoroughly and conditioned if needed. Your dog will
be
individually hand dried (not in a crate or dried communally with other wet
pets). If necessary, we will dry your pet using a high velocity drying system
that fluffs the coat as it removes any loose hair.
We also trim nails, foot hair, clean/flush ears, remove ear hair, trim sanitary areas and express glands if necessary, and also brush teeth (upon request).
When grooming your dog we will try to keep within your breeds grooming
standards as set by AKC (making your pet look like its breed) while taking in
consideration any added instructions that you provide; leaving the hair longer
here or shorter there as you wish. Some owners prefer their own design, which we
will try to achieve. Our goal is to work with you and style your pets coat in a
style that is to your liking, and easily maintained
Before you arrive: Your pet will
be excited coming to be groomed, please
make sure that your dog has relieved themselves before they leave home. Your pet
will probably not be staying all day, so please do not feed prior to coming for
grooming. We will have to charge
for re-bathing a pet that has soiled itself. If
you wish to leave your pet while attending to other activities in your busy day,
we do offer daycare service for just $10. We
will take your dog out for an exercise break, give them a fresh bucket of water,
a soft bed to lie on, and a secure kennel to relax in.
(Current vaccination records are required for daycare service.)
Afternoon
pick-ups are between 4 and 6 pm.
Regarding
After Hours Pick Up:
There will be a $1 per minute late charge after 6:00 pm.
We may not be able to accommodate a late pick up or keep your pet overnight so please be sure to
arrive by 6:00.
We schedule each pet based on the
time it takes to complete his/her particular style.
Please be on time. If you
are going to be late, please call and let us know. Unless you call, we will
consider any pet that is not present with in 15 minutes of its
appointment a no-show and may give its appointment to someone on our
waiting list. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late without calling, please
understand we may no longer be able to accommodate your pet’s needs.
If
you see that you will have to cancel please give us at least 24 hours
notice or you will be responsible for 50% of the grooming fee. In the
case of an emergency cancellation please call as soon as you know.
Methods of payment: We accept cash, personal checks with a local address, credit
and debit cards.
Ways to minimize grooming cost:
Saving your Groomer time will save you money!
Make
sure that your dog is combed and brushed and free of tangles, mats, and
parasites. Ask us for recommendations for at-home grooming tools and a
short demonstration of proper and effective grooming techniques you can do
yourself.
Make sure that your pet waits until it returns home to eat and has relieved
itself at home so they it will not soil itself and require re-bathing.
Make
sure that Pet is picked up during business hours.
Choose a haircut/style that is compatible with your lifestyle. The busier you are, the less time you have for at home grooming. Many breeds look adorable with a short haircut. Ask us for recommendations!

EAR FLUSH/CLEANING/HAIR REMOVAL - $5
BRUSH-OUT, no bath (for in between groomings) $10 PER QUARTER HOUR (15 MINUTES)
